Zam is finished!
<--- My zam helmet

My costume is done, but in need of repair after Dcon. It took a beating in the parade on Saturday (toe guards and hoses mainly). But it was so worth it. It was great seeing kids yell out “Zam” in the parade and I enjoyed getting pictures with them. I also got to meet members of the 501st (the SW elite costuming club) in my area. I hope to become a member soon, so I can join in on local events and charitable activities.

I was a little over my original budget (because the neoprene from Stretch-house was about $100), but in total my Zam was approx. $250. Not bad for a Budget Zam in 8 months.

I am very satisfied with my gun, which cost about 2 bucks. It's a toy watergun that resembled the barrel of Zam's gun with a plastic clarinet attached to the end and painted with buff n' rub and black kylon spray paint.

The gauntlets were made using craft foam, glue and buff n' rub. The greebles were made with bend and flex Scupley backed w/ a sheet of PVC. The skirt was 192 squares of kitchen vinyl flooring laced together by hand and all of the leather parts were pleater from Wal-mart.  Now the upgrades start. w00t :)
